program focuses on advanced acu-point therapeutics and energywork
skills/techniques. Enhance your understanding of different styles
and theories of energywork. Explore the practical applications of
Five Elements and Eight Principles theories. Adjunct holistic health
modalities such as moxa, cupping, magnets, Crainosacral Therapy
and guided imagery may be included in this program.
The Acupressure Institute's 150-hour Basic training or the completion
of a bodywork program is a prerequisite.

ACUPRESSURE
FIRST AID
Prerequisites: None
12 Class Hours
Learn first aid responses for emergency situations. Discover acupressure
points for heart attack, seizures, general pain, joint injuries,
back and neck injuries, common colds, burns, cuts and other first
aid applications. Class includes discussions, hands-on sessions,
role-playing and handouts for emergency situations.
ACUPRESSURE FOR MENOPAUSE
Prerequisites: Basic, Intermediate & Advanced Acupressure Classes
12 Class Hours
Appreciating menopause from both Traditional Chinese Medicine and
Western physiological approaches enables you to better support female
friends, family and clients. Information and suggestions for making
a smooth transition during menopause will be covered. Hot flashes,
night sweats, mood swings, osteoporosis, and alternatives to hormone
replacement therapy will be discussed. Sensitize your ability to
understand body imbalances, refine your TCM assessment skills, acupressure
point applications and gain nutritional support.
ACUPRESSURE'S POTENT POINTS

Provides hands-on point location, self-care, and clinical applications
for relieving common ailments from A to Z for working with clients.
ADVANCED ACUPRESSURE OIL MASSAGE
Prerequisites: Acupressure Oil Massage, Basic, Intermediate & Advanced
Acupressure Classes
15 Class Hours
Integrates Swedish and Esalen massage techniques with meridian and
five element assessment skills. Learn how to assess your client
through touch, physical body language clues and verbal communication
along with intuition. Present and past injuries as well as emotional
wounds are addressed. Good body mechanics are emphasized to increase
practitioners' effectiveness and decrease fatigue.
ADVANCED FIVE ELEMENTS
Prerequisites: Basic, Intermediate & Advanced Acupressure Classes
15 Class Hours
Learn 30 command points, tonification, sedation, and 'lo' points
Examine the five elements with the control and breeding cycles
ASSESSMENT
& APPLICATIONS I
Prerequisites: Basic, Intermediate & Advanced Acupressure Classes
15 Class Hours
Learn the four methods of Seeing, Hearing/ Listening, Smelling,
and Touching. Learn to incorporate this information in assessing
clients through the 8 Principals and 5 Elements.
ASSESSMENT & APPLICATIONS II
Prerequisites: Basic, Intermediate & Advanced Acupressure Classes;
Assessment & Applications I

Learn to deal with more complex or "knotty" issues in
clinical focus sessions.
CHAIR SHIATSU
12 Class Hours
Learn Shiatsu techniques to use on clients in a regular chair and
a massage chair. Covers two chair Shiatsu routines: a short 10-minute
and complete 30-minute session. Includes marketing and business
ideas for on-site work.
CHI GUNG FOR BODYWORKERS
Prerequisite: None
15 Class Hours
Learn to cultivate, focus, direct and apply vital energy (chi) doing
bodywork. Learn Chi Gung body mechanics and their applications to
bodywork. Learn to ground and harvest your cosmic chi for greater
stamina and bodywork effectiveness. Learn the Macrocosmic Orbit
to center yourself and balance the Central Channel. Learn Zhan Zhuang
(standing meditation) for deep inner body awareness.
CRANIOSACRAL THERAPY
Text Required: Atlas of Human Anatomy
15 Class Hours
Introduces and explains the Craniosacral system. Learn techniques
for harmonizing specific cranial bones and the sacrum. Develop palpation
skills to balance the cranial rhythm while using key acupressure
points. Supervised practice of fundamental Cranial Sacral Therapy
Skills included.
EXTRAORDINARY VESSELS
Prerequisites: None
15 Class Hours
Learn advanced point formulas based on the Basic Acupressure class.
Study the Extraordinary Vessels through hands-on practice and theoretical
instruction. Learn how each vessel flows and functions to bring
deeper balance.
INTUITIVE ACUPRESSURE
Prerequisites: None
12 Class Hours
Develop intuitive skills to enhance your acupressure practice for
trusting your inner guidance. Learn to sense, feel and see energy,
connect with healing guides, create boundaries, and cultivate your
awareness.
MAJOR MEDICAL DISORDERS
Prerequisites: Basic, Intermediate & Advanced Acupressure Classes

Study the mechanisms involved in major medical disorders to provide
a more accurate assessment of clients. Learn about your own level
of skill and knowledge so you know when and how to refer clients
to appropriate specialists. Explore the changes, loss and emotional
aspects involved in major medical illnesses.
MOXA, CUPPING & MAGNETS
Prerequisites: Basic, Intermediate & Advanced Acupressure Classes
12 Class Hours
Study the history, precautions, and applications for using moxa.
Learn moxa applications for deficient, cold or damp conditions.
Use cupping techniques for sprains, cold and arthritis. Learn how
to use magnets with acupressure applications.
PRACTICAL TREATMENT POINTS
Prerequisites: Basic & Intermediate Acupressure Classes
Text Required: Tsubo
10 Class Hours
Learn hands-on techniques for locating points. This class will cover
how to relieve many common ailments such as nausea, indigestion,
colds, and bronchitis. Explore clinical applications of various
health conditions.
SPIRIT OF THE POINTS
Prerequisites: Basic, Intermediate & Advanced Classes

Learn the spiritual uses and meaning of points through the five
elements Explore how the elements influence meridians Clinical practice
in seeing, hearing, smelling, and questioning the patient is covered
