Part II: September 18 - 28, 2008
This 150-hour Basic Acupressure Training covers several types of acupressure and the hours lead to certification as an Acupressure Massage Technician. Students of this program gain proficiency in the study of over 75 acupressure points and 10 styles of acupressure as well as a strong working knowledge of the 12 organ meridians, pulse reading, moxibustion, and the five-elements theory. Previous basic anatomy is required, or a commitment to take it within a year of beginning this training program. Acupressure Basic Training includes: BASIC FUNDAMENTALS OF ACUPRESSURE A practical introduction to the main forms of acupressure: Do-In, Shiatsu, and Jin Shin acupressure. This first class provides hands-on instruction of different forms of acupressure for helping yourself and others. You will learn the basic theory of acupressure, specific point location, self-acupressure methods, and Qigong Asian breathing exercises. 40 main acupressure points and how to combine them INTERMEDIATE ACUPRESSURE
ACUPRESSURE ADVANCED THEORY, POINTS Correlations between the meridians, the five senses, seasons, climates,
and colors ACU-YOGA SELF-HEALING, BUSINESS & ETHICS ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR Michael Reed Gach, Ph.D., founder of the Acupressure Institute, received advanced training in Traditional Chinese Medicine from Frank Chung, and training in Zen Shiatsu from Japanese Zen Priest Reuho Yamada. Gach practiced acupressure for over 33 years and has introduced over 100,000 people to acupressure. He is the author of Acu-Yoga, The Bum Back Book, Arthritis Relief at Your Fingertips, Acupressure’s Potent Points, and Acupressure for Emotional Healing.
