I am excited about teaching five classes, the first two weeks of December 2012. If you take my classes, you’ll learn acupressure in a way you’ll never forget.

For over 40 years, I have inspired thousands to attend the Acupressure Institute in Berkeley, CA.  I love to teach practical healing methods.

Since I’m devoted to my family and Acupressure productions, I rarely teach. I hope you’ll take this opportunity to learn acupressure from me. Here are the details.

Fundamentals of Acupressure: In this class you will learn:
– A hands-on introduction to the main forms of acupressure: Jin Shin (mindful, gently focused touch of acupressure points); Shiatsu (rhythmic massage that stimulates healing energy); Reflexology (foot massage to benefit the entire body); and Do-In or self-massage
– Specific locations and benefits of healing potent acupressure points
– Traditional Asian breathing Qi Gong standing exercises for stretching, centering, rejuvenation, stress relief, and hormonal balancing.

Acu-Yoga Foundations For Self-Healing: In this class, you will learn:
– Yoga postures combined with Acupressure to create a self-healing practice,
– To balance the 12 Organ Meridians of Traditional Chinese Medicine
– Stimulate the Chakra system used in Yogic and Tantric traditions
– Integrate deep breathing exercises
– Learn specific Acu-Yoga postures for relief of common stress related problems – – Teach clients how to relieve stress, pain and other common complaints

Zen Shiatsu uses rhythmic compression in coordination with the breath of both practitioner and client for tension release and relaxation. This traditional form of Shiatsu works on the floor, engaging your body in alignment with gravity. Learn:
1. An integrated style of Shiatsu that stimulates acupressure points and meridians.
2. To release tension in the neck, shoulders, back, legs, and face
3. How to give a full body session using range of motion and stretching
4. How to move rhythmically, purposefully, and gracefully
5. How to use your hands, arms, and entire body effectively and without strain
6. How to incorporate breath awareness of self and client into the massage rhythm

Taught on floor mats. Required for the Acupressure Institute’s Shiatsu Program.

Chair Shiatsu
Learn Shiatsu techniques to use on clients in a regular chair and a massage chair. Covers two chair Shiatsu routines: a short 10-minute and complete 30 to 45 minute session. Includes marketing and business ideas for on-site work.

Emotional Healing: Learn how acupressure can facilitate emotional healing for both self-treatment and for the treatment of others. Discover specific acupressure points for balancing your emotions such as anger, frustration, worry, depression, grief, fear, anxiety, and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder.

Learn how to apply acupressure for emotional healing using points, breathing and somatic skills to focus deep within the body, allowing what is blocked to surface, be expressed and released. As acupressure points open, healing energy increases awareness, awakens the roots of emotional problems, and facilitates long lasting healing. Recommended text: Acupressure for Emotional Healing.

Teaching Acupressure is a way for me to pass on my 40 years of acupressure experience, and to inspire you to do this healing work. My intention is to empower you, so you can practice Acupressure in a healing way. I will stay after classes and meet personally with you – answer your questions, and share special acupressure points and healing methods with you.

  1. Michael, tell me what your charging for all the classes your offering. I did not find these prices, yet.
    Living near Sacramento, where is the location of your classes going to be held.
    Last thing is, you are going to have an e-class as well, could you please include info on that as gas prices would impact traveling for this senior citizen.
    I appreciate your time to respond to my queries.

    • Good Questions. Here’s the class prices. I will be teaching at the Acupressure Institute in Berkeley CA, which is 30 minutes from San Francisco and 90 minutes from Sacramento. This is in a very good, safe location with fabulous food available nearby. The French Hotel in Berkeley is conveniently across the street to save gas and time. I plan to have distance learning materials (5 instructional booklets, 2 guided visualization CDs and point flash cards) available as an e-pack in November, 2012. This is great if you can’t study with me in person. The pack is also good to prepare yourself for taking an acupressure training program at the Acupressure Institute in the future.

    I’m also interested in the E-pack training as I’m over in London, UK.
    Do you know if acupressure is effective for people with mental and physical disabilities; schizophrenia and psychotic experiences? Also … this is a big question now … is acupressure beneficial for people with tight, hypertonic muscles?
    Do you or will you ever come to London to share your training?
    They’re really lucky to have you over there in America.

    • Yes, I have found acupressure helpful for balancing both mental and physical muscular imbalances. I wish more health professionals knew what I know about applying acupressure to helping people with these conditions; it may not be a cure, but the change acupressure can have for helping mental and emotional imbalances is remarkable.
