Acupressure Points for
Allergy Relief & Allergic Reactions

Acupressure Allergy Relief
While not a cure for allergies, Acupressure can be effective for both preventing and relieving many symptoms of allergic reactions, by balancing your body’s energy system.

Self-Care Instructions
I’m giving you both a video and then written instructions below it. The video demonstrates how to use the powerful Hoku point, LI 4, which is also effective for preventing and relieving headaches. Below the video are complete instructions for that point and also another important Acupressure point, Lv 3.

How to Hold Lv 3

LI 4 for Allergic Reactions

The Four Gates Points for Allergies

Two key Acupressure points, Lv 3 and LI 4, balance the energy moving up and down the body. They’re known as the Four Gates, and are found on both hands and both feet. These potent points open the flow of healing energy through the Large Intestine and Liver Meridians and help allergic reactions to subside.

LI 4 is known as the Hoku point.

LI 4 governs descending energy moving down the body, which helps relieve allergic reactions. It’s located on the top of the hand, in the webbing between the thumb and index finger. You can find it by bringing your thumb and index finger together — it’s on the highest spot of the muscle that pops up. This anti-inflammatory and antihistamine point opens the Large Intestine Meridian and the energy that flows down the body.

NOTE: Strongly stimulating LI 4 should be avoided
if you might be or are pregnant.

Lv 3 is called the Bigger Rushing Point
It’s located on the top of the foot, in the valley or webbing between the large toe and the second toe. This powerful point balances the Liver Meridian and all energy that flows up the body. It relieves many kinds of allergic reactions, especially bloodshot eyes and neuromuscular disorders.

For Treating an Allergic Reaction
I suggest breathing deeply as you hold first the hand point and then the foot point for 1 to 2 minutes each. Press gradually into the point, then hold it firmly as you take long, slow, deep breaths. End by gradually releasing the pressure. Repeat for a total of three times for each point, alternating between them.

For Prevention of Allergies
You can use these same points in the same way to prevent an allergic reaction from coming on. This is especially helpful before entering a space or situation that you know may be problematic for your allergies.
