Learn how to use an Acupressure Point to Deepen your Breath,

CV 17 a calming, nurturing, emotional healing point known as the "Sea of Tranquility"

Try the following Acupressure breathing movement meditation which is in the instructional video clip below for a few weeks, to discover the benefits.

Point Location: CV 17, a great emotional balancing point, is four finger widths up from the base of your breastbone, in the center of your chest. Use your fingertips to slowly rub up and down in the center of your breastbone to feel for an indentation, between the nipples on a man.

For Self-Healing place your palms together, your fingers pointing upward, and with the back knuckles of your thumbs pressing into the center of your breastbone to hold CV 17, known as the Sea of Tranquility point. With your spine straight, focus on breathing slowly and deeply into this emotional healing acupressure point to nurture your heart.

Directions: Keep your hands in prayer position with your spine straight, supported by a straight back chair.  Close your eyes gently. Inhale, as your head slightly comes upward. Exhale slowly as your head relaxes downward. 

Continue this healing movement breathing meditation for two or three minutes to discover the benefits. You can also hold CV 17 with your fingertips instead of being in prayer pose which will enable you to practice throughout the day to calm any anxiety you may have and counteract problems caused or worsened by stress in your life.

A Healing Practice: You have to practice this exercise two or three times a day, with super slow, deep breathing to obtain the full benefits. It’s effective because we are combining acupressure, with an easy yoga posture and deep breathing, which changes your metabolism. Keep using this practice for a few months to see substantial health condition changes.

  2. Dear Michael, I wish to ask you a acupressure point question…recently, through an acupuncturist, the bulging disc in L5 was unwrapped from the muscles and pain came along also. My question is concerning pressure points available to help heal this spinal issue and the pain associated with it. Like the pain runs through my knee down to my ankle or toes and sometimes through the right groin part of right leg and hip area. I am seeing a chiropractor for manipulation and stetching exercises. I look forward to your advice and instruction for this betterment.

  4. Please any points in Acupressure for the defect of ATRIAL SEPTAL DEFECT in Heart. In this defect the hole size is 20mm. If possible to close for Acupressure. If possible please send me that lesson.

    • This is a medical problem and I’m not a doctor. However, I believe this acupressure point may be very helpful for feeling calmer and better in many ways. Please take slow, deep breaths are you hold it.

  5. This posture is quite good. Can it be used to circulate love energy around the microcosmic orbit c consisting of governor channel in the back and the functional channel in the front mid body line?.
    Can you suggest any method to circulate energy around all twelve important channels of the body covering hand, legs, torso, and head and genital area?.

  9. My 3 yr. 10 months old son has Atrial Septal Defect (ASD) commonly known as the ‘whole in the heart atrium.. The whole size is about 14 mm. Initial diagnosis by our homedoctor shows it can be fixed by an ASD closure (catheterization device).

    Do you think that acupressure can be a remedy for such problem?



    • This case is clearly medical. Gentle Acupressure can be helpful in speeding the healing process once the doctor OKs it.

    • Try using the inner and outer gates, P6 and TW5. There’s more factors to deal with for excessive sweating that a holistic practitioner could handle.
